Our Guest Curator: Nancy Silverton The Mother of LA Dining

Chef Nancy Silverton is in residency with us for the month of May, bringing decades of influence, intuition, and unmistakable taste to every box. We've named her the Mother of LA Dining — and for good reason. Nancy has spent a lifetime shaping how this city eats, thinks about bread, pizza, and California cuisine — and her restaurants remain some of the busiest and most beloved tables in town. With the Michelin-starred Mozza Restaurant Group, her newest hot spot Max & Helen's, her reach has never been greater.

With five James Beard Awards — including the Foundation's most recent Lifetime Achievement Award — and a newly earned spot on the 2026 TIME100, her legacy is as decorated as it is deeply felt. She helped redefine artisan bread in America, turn pizza into fine dining, and pioneer a farm-to-table philosophy long before it became standard. Her work is grounded in a deep respect for local farmers, peak-season produce, and the quiet magic of doing things well.

Each week of her residency, Nancy brings that philosophy to life in every delivery — curating the best of the season alongside recipes and a selection of goods from the growers and makers she loves. A celebration of California, craft, and a life spent in pursuit of flavor.
